In 2019, Ginny Coon found herself looking for a new career path. She had a background in education, but had always loved massage therapy. During COVID, she decided to go back to school. This time, for massage therapy at WakeTech.
After finishing massage therapy school in 2021, she began working with a massage therapy business but soon realized she wanted to go out on her own. Fast forward to 2024, she learned about Office Ours and decided to take a chance working for herself by leasing her own office suite. She had planted the seeds for Breathing Room Massage Therapy to grow and was ready to execute.
Ginny wants to provide a space and service where clients can come in, relax, and reset their nervous system. She often finds that people can be intimidated by massage therapy or think it is an expensive luxury service. In reality, regular massage can be a practical part of maintaining overall health and well-being. By creating a welcoming environment, Ginny helps clients feel at ease from the moment they walk in.
After moving into her own office at the Garner Office Ours location, her business began to grow. She utilized the Garner Chamber of Commerce, located next door to Office Ours. She became a chamber member and started meeting other business owners in the area. Her business has grown due to the chamber’s support, which has empowered her to talk to more people and network.
Ginny enjoys having her massage therapy practice at Office Ours because of the great location. The building is highly visible and easy for her clients to find. She enjoys talking and networking with other small business owners in the building. She also finds that when a problem or maintenance issue arises, it is addressed and resolved quickly. Office Ours has given Ginny the tools to keep growing her business in Garner.
Ginny is a part of the LaunchGarner entrepreneurial cohort, which is a course for new business owners in Garner. She also teaches massage therapy courses at WakeTech, the same place she was a student just a few years ago. In addition to offering massage therapy at her 500 Benson Road office in Garner, she also provides chair massage for community events.
